INN BY THE SEA
In 2006, Inn by the Sea received Green Lodging Certification and a Legislative Sentiment by the State of Maine as an Environmental Leader
Inn by the Sea has been selected as one of America’s Top Ten Green Hotels by MSNBC and Forbes Traveler and one of the World’s Top Ten Green Hotels by TripAdvisor
Chef Mitchell Kaldrovich was nominated for Top of the Crop, best Farm-to-Table Chef in Maine
OTHER KEY SUCCESSES
In 2006, Olympia completed Maine’s first LEED-Certified (for Core & Shell) office building by a private developer
In 2008, Olympia completed an $18,000,000 renovation of Inn by the Sea, including the addition of a 5,000 Sq. Ft. Spa. The Spa is a certified Silver LEED-CI project.
In 2011, Olympia and Inn by the Sea partnered with the State of Maine to rehabilitate 2 acres of coastal marsh to remove invasive non-indigenous plant species providing natural habitat for the New England Cottontail Rabbit, a candidate for the 2006 US Endangered Species Act.
In 2013, Olympia Development delivered 3 LEED certified hotels in Florida, Illinois and North Carolina.
Olympia Hotel Management currently maintains Green Lodging designations in Maine, Illinois, New Hampshire, Connecticut and North Carolina. Additional certification is pending for Florida.
