The Challenge
To design, permit and build a signature upscale select service hotel on a prime real estate lot in the heart of Portland’s Old Port district. This required sensitivity to the local historic architectural context along with compliance with Hilton’s strict franchise brand standards.
Design
The first franchise hotel in downtown Portland, Olympia needed to create an iconic building that exceeded the brand standards both inside and out. The hotel’s titanium skin harkens back to the metal shed buildings that once populated the historic waterfront.
With external illumination provided by cutting-edge color-changing LED’s, the Hilton Garden Inn Portland combines modern construction technology with luxurious, transitional interior finishes – a unique design combination that earned the hotel “Deal of the Year” from Hilton.
