Olympia Hotel Management was selected as the third party manager for this unique 52-room independent Inn featuring full service Tavern and meeting space in January, 2011 with a projected opening date of June, 2011. With construction well underway, Olympia had to mobilize quickly to help the project meet its opening target and take advantage of the Maine summer tourist season. The management team formulated a condensed opening action plan to select and build key hotel systems, including Property Management System, Restaurant Point-of-Sale and web booking engine, develop and launch a fully optimized website, select guest room, restaurant/banquet and public area OS&E and host job fairs and training seminars. In addition, we deployed our hotel sales professionals from the region to conduct 'boots-on-the-ground' sales blitzes and awareness campaigns.
Leveraging its unique design and location in the heart of downtown Brunswick adjacent to the Bowdoin College campus, this independent hotel was able to capture the top RevPAR spot within six months of opening in a market of branded product. A focus on relationship building and a tailored service approach were instrumental in moving key business from Hilton, Marriott and Choice competitors. The Tavern has additionally become a staple in the community for three-meal period dining in a warm and inviting atmosphere for visitors to the region and locals alike.
