Don "Skip" Hopkins
Director of Facilities
Don Hopkins oversees the facilities and asset management for Olympia. He brings to our team a wealth of specialized knowledge in energy management, building and LEED® design, emergency preparedness and disaster recovery, capital improvement planning, efficiency software and countless other operational tools.
Don began his career in the construction industry with a background in electrical and high-pressure boiler operation. He has traveled the country working on large projects for companies including General Electric, Boise Cascade, and Chevron.
After helping to build the Inn By The Sea, Don stayed on as Chief Engineer to begin the hospitality chapter of his career.
His relationship building skills and his hands-on style of management helped him excel at directly managing, consulting for and large project management for hotels in Maine, Boston, Philadelphia and Delaware.
He has been with the Olympia Companies since 2006, enjoying multiple roles as Chief Engineer, Operations Manager, Project Manager and now as the Director of Facilities. Don champions continuous improvement in every aspect of operations every day.
