Olympia Hotel Management Properties Win Multiple Awards

Accolades from Condé Nast Traveler and Travel +Leisure

Five hotels and resorts managed by Olympia Hotel Management have been singled out for awards and recognition in the Condé Nast Traveler 2021 Readers’ Choice Awards and Travel + Leisure World’s Best Awards 2021. They include The Alfond Inn at Rollins, The Glen House, The Hotel at Oberlin, Inn by the Sea and SOPHY® Hyde Park.

The Alfond Inn at Rollins, Winter Park, FL

The Alfond Inn at Rollins was selected once again as one the Top 15 Hotels in Florida in the Condé Nast Traveler 2021 Readers’ Choice Awards and was also lauded as one of the Top 15 Resort Hotels in Florida by Travel + Leisure World’s Best Awards 2021. The 112-room boutique hotel is located in the heart of historic Winter Park, close to Orlando. Owned by Rollins College and managed by Olympia Hotel Management, The Alfond Inn at Rollins is distinguished by its philanthropic mission, directing all of its net operating income to scholarships. It is also the only hotel in the United States that serves as a formal extension of an art museum, exhibiting a rotating collection of artworks from The Alfond Collection of Contemporary Art, which is part of the Rollins Art Museum.

The Glen House, Mt. Washington, NH

The Glen House was named one of the top 30 Hotels in the Northeast in the Condé Nast Traveler 2021 Readers’ Choice Awards. Located at the base of Mount Washington in New Hampshire’s White Mountains, the 68-room property has the Notch Grille Restaurant, bar and lounge, as well as a gym, indoor salt water swimming pool and meeting space. A roster of outdoor activities is available at the adjacent Great Glen Trails Outdoor Center and the start of the famed Mt. Washington Summit Road.

The Hotel at Oberlin, Oberlin, OH

The Hotel at Oberlin was named as one of the Top 20 Hotels in the Midwest in the Condé Nast Traveler 2021 Readers’ Choice Awards. Owned by Oberlin College, the 70-room property opened in September 2016 and was the first hotel in the US to incorporate solar, geothermal, and radiant heating and cooling. The Hotel at Oberlin is on track to qualify for the rigorous LEED Platinum certification from the U.S. Green Building Council. The hotel also includes a 6,500 square foot meeting and function space as well as 1833, a restaurant overseen by Executive Chef Jim Barnhart.

Inn by the Sea, Cape Elizabeth, ME

Inn by the Sea was named one of the Top 30 Resorts in the Northeast in the Condé Nast Traveler 2021 Readers’ Choice Awards and Travel + Leisure World’s Best Awards 2021 placed it in The Top 10 New England Resort Hotels. The resort was also recently recognized by USA Today’s 10Best in three categories: Best Luxury Hotel; Best Waterfront Hotel; and Best Eco-Friendly Hotel. This eco luxury property is Maine's premier beach destination, set on a mile of unspoiled sandy beach. SOPHY® Hyde Park, Chicago, IL

SOPHY® Hyde Park, the 98-room boutique hotel located in Chicago’s Hyde Park neighborhood, was profiled in Condé Nast Traveler, which said, “Let this South Side stunner with a strong art collection, clever restaurant and neighborhood following be your entrée to one of the city’s most vibrant and undertouristed areas, Hyde Park.” The publication went on to say that “Sophy’s developers, Olympia Hotel Management, also run the nonprofit and similarly art-filled Alfond Inn in Winter Park, Florida, proving they have an affinity for campus audiences.” Note that for the 5th straight year, Chicago was voted the Best Big City in the U.S by Condé Nast Traveler.
